Antique treasures, outdoor pleasures!

Established in 1836 as a mill town,
Wilmington still holds that old charm. The historic business district presents an eclectic mix of new and old, with a distinctive small town character. Discover the Kankakee River, seven city parks, six state parks nearby and the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie Park encompassing over 45,000 acres of open space for fishing, hiking, biking, camping and hunting. You can spend all day enjoying the treasures of yesteryear.

Introduction to the Chamber:

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization of businesses representing industry, retail, service, professionals, and agriculture in partnership with tourism and government to further promote economic growth and quality of life in
Wilmington. The strength of the Chamber lies in the active involvement of its membership. Both large and small businesses are represented and influence the direction of the organization.
Sponsoring community events and promoting tourism is an important role of the Chamber. The Chamber office organizes the volunteers necessary for events during the year.

The Chamber acts as a community information center. The Wilmington Chamber is a voice for business, devoted to strengthening the business community, and maintaining the exceptional characteristics of life here in
Wilmington

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce encourages all residents of the Wilmington area to purchase products and services from our local business establishments. We acknowledge not all products and services are available locally, however many are. Every local purchase you make generates tax revenue that allows for improvements in our community. Shop Wilmington first!

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s meets at Noon every 2nd Thursday of the month at

Nelly's has been open for just more than a year and Kathy has been a friendly smile there since. At right is Chamber ambassador Randy May who presented the traveling trophy. At left Tina Nelson, co-owner of Nelly's.
