Maureen Plese (center) is presented with the Wilmington Chamber’s Employee of the Month trophy from Chamber ambassador Judy Wunderlich (left) and WHS Principal Scott Maupin. Plese wears many hats at Wilmington High School, acting as the registrar, guidance secretary, athletic director assistant and front office substitute. She manages all of these responsibilities with grace and a smile. As one of her responsibilities on the Guidance Office team, Maureen handles the most important school documents that exist for any WHS student or graduate. High school transcripts and other records are the key to successful transitions to future employment, the military and college. Plese considers accuracy and timeliness a priority to ensure that every student can succeed. Maureen is the welcoming face of the Guidance Department, and her values are evident in how she treats people who enter the building. Her kindness and care in the most challenging circumstances make her an outstanding representative of Wilmington High School and the community.
