Last month the Chamber recognized Cathy Dorch as the Employee of the Month. Presenting the award is Steve Evans, Chamber president.

Cathy has been a vital part of the Wilmington VFW since its reopening following a fire and rebuild. She has dedicated her time as a volunteer and employee, generating fundraising ideas to benefit the kitchen project. Her “fun food” raffle idea has become a great contributor to the kitchen fund.

Cathy’s perseverance as a salesperson is noted during the weekly Queen of Hearts raffles. She makes friends with the crowd, turning strangers into her friends. Cathy promotes veterans’ issues and is supportive of an veteran’s needs. She is the daughter of a Navy veteran and her husband is an Army veteran. She has a heart of gold, not only for helping veterans but anyone in need.
