The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2026 Hometown Heroes banner program.

The Hometown Heroes program honors local veterans by displaying personalized banners along Wilmington streets from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. Each banner recognizes a current or former Wilmington resident who served in the United States Armed Forces and is a visible way for our community to show its appreciation for their service.

Applications are open to families, individuals, and businesses who wish to honor a veteran. Space is limited, and banners are installed on a first come, first served basis until all available locations are filled.

The application process includes submitting a completed application, an original photograph that meets program guidelines, and required verification documents. All program rules, requirements, and submission instructions are outlined on the the Hometown Heroes page.

Applications will be accepted through March 31 or until all banner locations are filled.
