Split the Pot Raffle Official Rules

  1. Sponsor

The Split the Pot Raffle is conducted by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce (“Chamber”), a nonprofit organization located in Wilmington, Illinois.

  1. Button Price and Participation

Raffle chances are sold in the form of uniquely numbered buttons.

Each button costs $3.00 and is assigned a unique number. Participants must retain their original numbered button. The original numbered button is required to claim any prize.

  1. Prize and Calculation of Proceeds

Gross proceeds consist of all revenue received from the sale of raffle buttons during the applicable raffle period.

The Chamber may deduct direct raffle supply costs, including button materials and related supplies purchased specifically for the raffle.

After deduction of such expenses, the remaining amount shall constitute the net raffle proceeds.

The winning participant shall receive fifty percent (50%) of the net raffle proceeds.

The remaining fifty percent (50%) of the net raffle proceeds shall be retained by the Chamber and used for Chamber purposes or other community initiatives as determined by the Chamber.

  1. Drawing Procedure

At the conclusion of the raffle sales period, all button numbers issued for the raffle shall be randomized one time using a random number generation service. This process creates a complete winning sequence of all button numbers from first through last.

The Chamber shall review the winning sequence and skip any numbers that were not sold during the raffle period.

The first sold number appearing in the winning sequence shall be designated the initial winning number.

The winning sequence is generated only once. No additional drawings or re-randomizations shall occur after the initial winning sequence has been created.

  1. Publication of Winning Numbers

Winning numbers shall be published on the Chamber’s official website at wilmingtonilchamber.org and on the Chamber’s official Facebook page.

While winning numbers may also be published through newspapers, media outlets, participating businesses, or other channels, the Chamber guarantees publication only through its official website and official Facebook page.

Participants are responsible for checking these official sources for winning numbers and updates.

  1. Claiming the Prize

The Chamber shall establish and publish a claim period for each published winning number. No claim period shall be less than seven (7) calendar days.

Claimants must present the original numbered button before a prize is awarded.

Claim deadlines are final.

No extensions, exceptions, waivers, or accommodations shall be granted for any reason, including but not limited to illness, hospitalization, travel, family emergency, inability to access the internet, failure to receive notice, or failure to check published winning numbers.

  1. Unclaimed Prize Procedure

Following the drawing, the highest ranked eligible sold number shall be published as the initial winning number. Any winning number not claimed within the published claim period permanently loses all eligibility to receive the prize. When no winner comes forward during any claim period, the Chamber shall publish the next five eligible sold numbers from the previously established winning sequence.

These numbers shall be published in the order in which they appear in the winning sequence.

Any published number holder may submit a claim during the published claim period.

At the conclusion of the claim period, the claimant holding the highest ranked published number shall be declared the winner. If more than one published number is claimed during the claim period, the claimant holding the highest ranked published number shall be declared the winner and all lower ranked claims shall be denied.

If none of the published numbers are claimed within the claim period, the Chamber shall publish the next five eligible sold numbers from the winning sequence and repeat the process until a valid winner is determined. This process shall continue until a valid winning claim is received.

At all times, priority shall be determined solely by the original winning sequence generated during the drawing process.

  1. Participant Responsibilities

Participants are solely responsible for safeguarding their buttons.

Participants are solely responsible for checking the Chamber’s official website and official Facebook page for winning numbers and updates.

Individual requests submitted by telephone, email, social media message, contact form, or any other communication channel asking whether a number has won will not be answered. This policy is intended to ensure fairness and equal treatment of all participants.

Failure to see a published winning number, receive notice, or receive information through any third party source shall not extend any claim deadline.

  1. Records and Final Authority

The Chamber shall maintain records of sold button numbers and the winning sequence generated for each raffle.

The Chamber reserves the right to verify the validity of any claim prior to awarding a prize.

The Chamber’s determination of ownership, eligibility, winning sequence position, and compliance with these rules shall be final.

  1. Acceptance of Rules

By purchasing a raffle button, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
