The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce will host a lighted Christmas parade Saturday, November 27. The parade will start at 5 p.m. at Wilmington Middle School and travel on Ryan to Water Street, to the post office. No live Santas are allowed as Santa Claus will arrive in Wilmington for the parade. This year’s parade theme is “A Retro TV Christmas.”

Anyone is welcome to sign up with a parade entry. Complete the form on this page, or call 815-585-2546. Line up at 4 p.m., position to be determined upon arrival, use Joliet Street entrance.

For the safety of the children, parade entrants should have walkers to hand candy out. Candy may not be thrown from moving vehicles.

Activities will take place on North Water Street, including visits with Santa, refreshments, dance performances starting at 4:30 p.m., and Polar Express rides for youth through the downtown district.
